HEALING STAGES
FOR BROWS!
Microblading, Ombre, Powder and Combo Eyebrow Healing Stages
THE HEALING PROCESS

Fully healed results are the most incredibly natural and hassle free procedure to enhance eyebrows. The path to achieving those anticipated healed results can be a bit surprising. In addition to following the aftercare instructions, understanding the healing process is essential to avoid unneeded stress and worry while going though the different stages of healing.

When it comes to understanding the healing process, the best way to start is to emphasize the word “process”. Since the procedure involves making micro abrasions into the skin, there is clearly going to be healing that the body must perform afterward. However, unlike other wounds, the fine strokes and machine work must heal in a way that result in the pigment remaining in the skin mimicking the appearance of natural eyebrow hair. This is why the aftercare instructions cannot be stressed enough!
As the body heals, the shading and strokes will go through a series of looks before the final result is achieved. Not being prepared with what to expect can cause many to wonder if getting their eyebrows done with permanent makeup was a mistake. To help reduce the stress and drama, the healing timeline is described below.

Day 1
-
Eyebrows are approximately 40% darker and bolder than they will be once fully healed
-
Skin will be pink or red under the pigment which will cause the pigment color to appear much darker
-
Swelling and redness will be present through and around the brows
Day 2-5
-
Swelling and redness has subsided
-
Scabbing of the strokes is beginning
-
Eyebrows start to itch and look much thicker in texture, DO NOT PICK SCABS. Color can be lost and scarring may occur.
Day 5 - 10
-
Skin’s dead cells will begin to flake and peeling might begin around the edges of the eyebrows - do not pick!
Day 10 - 15
-
Flaked off dead skin cells result in exfoliation, sometimes revealing no definite visible color in the skin
Day 15 - 30
-
Pigment in the skin continues to oxidize and shading and strokes begin to reappear in color intended from the beginning
-
Some strokes may come back looking patchy or faded (6 to 12 week touch-up is needed as the final step!)
Touch-Up Day
-
Eyebrows are fully healed and ready to undergo the finishing shading and strokes during a touch-up appointment
-
Final eyebrow enhancement after touch-up is complete!

Proper aftercare is a very important aspect of the long-term success, effectiveness, health, and overall satisfaction with your new ombré powder brow. It is very important to follow those instructions in order to achieve the best possible results from your permanent makeup procedure. Included here are general permanent makeup aftercare instructions that will help limit any infection or problems and assure a healthy and successful healing as quickly as possible.
-
NO BOTOX FOR 2 WEEKS BEFORE OR AFTER PROCEDURE!
-
DO NOT TOUCH THE HEALING PIGMENTED AREA WITH YOUR FINGERS. THEY MAY HAVE BACTERIA ON THEM AND CREATE AN INFECTION!
-
Always wash your hands first before you clean the area!!
-
The FIRST DAY after your service, CLEAN EVERY with a light soap 4 hours after treatment.
-
Apply a very, very thin coat of healing Ointment AFTER cleaning provided by Brow Catching at the time of your service *technician will apply before you leave.
-
Apply 2-3 times/day when needed for 7-10 days. Discontinue after peeling has completed.
-
To clean, always use a clean cotton disk, dampened with bottled water and wipe off the existing ointment on your brows, Pat dry with a clean/dry tissue and reapply the ointment.
-
For the first 24 hours, lymph fluids may surface of the brow and it is very important to NOT allow this to accumulate and harden on the surface of the skin.
-
For the first 72 hours, avoid any contact with water other than the dampened cotton disk used for cleaning.
-
If slight crust/scab appears on the pigmented surface, do not force removal by picking or scratching! You will remove pigment along with the crusting and create potential for scarring.
-
After 72 hours, you may use a gentle cleanser with your fingertips to wash the area, pat the area dry with a clean towel or tissue. DO NOT SCRUB OR RUB FORCEFULLY.
-
The procedure may have some peeling on or around the third day. This is a normal part of the healing process on some clients.
-
Do not apply makeup over healing areas!
-
No tinting of brows.
-
Avoid excessive sweating/exercise, sun, saunas, and swimming (including chlorinated pools or jacuzzies, the ocean, or recreational bodies of water)

-
Avoid products containing Aloe Vera, Vitamin E during the healing time.
-
Do not donate blood for one year after the procedure, per the Red Cross
-
Follow up appointments should be scheduled between 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure. New procedures are sometimes a two-step process and results are sometimes not determined until the follow up visit is completed. Do not judge your procedure while it is in the healing process as it may require a follow up.
-
If you experience excessive itching, swelling, blistering or any other complications post-procedure, STOP using the aftercare product and contact your technician immediately, you may be allergic to the aftercare product.
-
All tattoos carry the inherent risk of infection and/or allergic reaction, so if swelling, pain, bruising persists for more than a few days, it may be a sign of infection, so be sure to contact your doctor right away..
-
Any operations such as botox; facial laser treatments or chemical peels will affect the pigment from the procedure and the overall appearance. Please notify your physician prior to performing those services.
AVERAGE HEALING TIME & PROCESS:
Average healing time will vary from person to person and will depend on several physiological factors that include age, skin type, circulation, hormonal cycles, and how easily and/or severely you swell and bruise. Generally, as with any type of skin trauma, older looser skin tends to take a bit longer than younger skin to heal. Other factors that may affect healing time include diet, excessive physical activity, exposure to direct sunlight, and any medications you might be taking.
Non-Invasive Body Contouring Instructions
-
Hydrate: Drink at least eight glasses of water a day and eat hydrating foods like fruits and vegetables. Hydration helps flush toxins from the body and can improve skin elasticity.

This helps stimulate the metabolism and elimination of disintegrated fat cells. For the first 24-48 hours after your treatment, steer clear of dark-colored foods and beverages such as coffee, tea, red wine, berries, and tomato sauce, as they can stain your teeth.
-
Opt for clear liquids immediately after your treatment, such as water, coconut water, or clear broth. Avoid colored beverages that could potentially stain your teeth.

-
If you smoke or use tobacco products, try to abstain for at least 24 hours after the treatment to prevent staining and maximize the whitening results.

When consuming beverages that could stain your teeth, use a straw to minimize contact with your newly whitened enamel.

-
Follow any recommended follow-up appointments or touch-up treatments as advised by your dentist or teeth whitening professional to maintain your results over time.
-
Keep up with regular dental check-ups and cleanings to ensure your oral health remains in top condition. Good oral hygiene practices contribute to the longevity of your teeth whitening results.
